ABOUT THE 21ST CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS PROGRAM

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) program is authorized under Title IV, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. The 21CCLC program provides federal funding for the establishment of community learning centers that provide academic, artistic and cultural enrichment opportunities for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools, in order to meet state and local standards in core academic subjects such as reading, math and science. This program is also intended to offer students a broad array of activities and to include families and the community in the educational process.

VIBE Week ONE

 Hello Everyone!

We are so excited that you are going to join us for Summer VIBE!

Have fun with the extra activities below!

Use Play Foam for fun tactile play! Roll, squish, squash, sculpt, and squeeze this strange, but fun textured bubbly foam. Use it to help manage anxiety/anger as squeezing it is very calming and therapeutic. It won’t dry out or make a mess in your house! Plus it’s easy to clean up!

Children are asked what “genealogy” is and most don’t know, but when asked about what “family history” is, they are full of definitions.  Click here to watch!

Genealogy Kids gives great tips on how to start doing your own research at home and online!  Click here to watch!

Familysearch.orgThis site is free to start building your family tree and often records can be free to access. However, this site is callobrative amongst their users. It’s best to not add any info to your tree if you are unsure of its accuracy.

Ancestry.com: Ancestry does cost money, but if you find yourself seriously wanting to pursue genealogy in the future it could be a good resource. There is some things you can access for free and you can start building your tree on there for free. The records available is where the cost comes in.
