I love living here in the Crescent area, where I have lived most of my life. I am married to a wonderful man, Larry Horn. We have four terrific children and sixteen equally terrific grandchildren. We feel very blessed to have all of them living in this area. .
My favorite activities are spending time with my family, being involved in church activities, reading, and sewing. My favorite colors are blue and purple. My favorite vacation is camping in the mountains with my family. My favorite time of the day is the evening. My favorite food depends on my mood. My favorite person is my husband.
I teach because I love children, and I really enjoy watching them learn and grow. I believe that every student can succeed, and that it is my job to help them find a way to do so. This can be accomplished through many avenues, including the use of technology which is such an important tool in facilitating learning in the twenty-first century. Every child learns differently, and I believe in using a wide variety of strategies to help meet these individual needs. My teaching philosophy can be summarized in one sentence: I believe that it is my job to create an environment in which learning takes place.
