Speech I and II

MATERIALS REQUIRED: A voice

CLASS DESCRIPTION: The student will exhibit an awareness of the audience and its influence on the speaker, develop an awareness of the influence of a speaker's background on his speech, and show a critical listening ability of other speeches through the critical analyses of logical, emotional, and ethical appeal and discourse. The student will learn to use correct voice skills and develop the use of correct body skills through the study of posture, eye contact, gestures, and the use of the podium and manuscript or note cards. The student will write an effective introduction, body, and conclusion by capturing the attention, orienting, familiarizing, and motivating the audience. The student will participate in group discussions and demonstrate etiquette skills. ALL OF THE ABOVE IS DONE IN A FUN, NONTHREATENING MANNER!
