Many of the repeating trends in element characteristics are related to valence electrons and their ionization energy. If you have not used "Numbers" (the graphing program on your laptop), this lab will give you an opportunity to learn the basics about the program. Like Excel on a PC, it is a "spread sheet" and a very powerful computer tool. Use this Numbers Tutorial to help make the graph.
	Hint: on any data table, the independent variable is on the left and the dependent variable is on the right. There can only be ONE independent variable. If a data table has more than two columns, the left column is the independent variable and all other columns are dependent variables.
