  • tall glass continer
  • small candle
  • shallow dish
  • small piece of clay
  • water
Procedure:
  1. Use the clay to attach the candle to the center of the dish.
     
  2. Using the glass container, half-fill the dish with water.
     
  3. Light the candle.
     
  4. When the candle is burning well, quickly invert the glass container over the candle, and set it on the bottom of the dish.
     
  5. Observe and record the sequence of events carefully.
