Equipment List:
600 ml beaker, thermometer, tap water and ice (fill red cup with ice from cafeteria).
Procedure: (responsibility will be rotated daily between pairs of students)
- Record the room temperature.
- Add about 300 ml of tap water to the beaker.
- Place the thermometer in the water.
- Slowly add ice to the water.
- Observe the outside of the beaker and record the water temperature at which condensation is first observed.
- Record the official humidity from this Website
- Return "dry" materials to equipment tray.
- Repeat this every class day for two weeks.
- (Individually) At the end of the observation period, use "Numbers" to graph the data collected on your laptop. (Show Mr. Askew this graph on your computer screen for your lab grade.)
