Observations |
Equipment List:
- 2 small "microwave safe" containers
- water
- ice cubes
- microwave oven
Procedure:
HINT: Set the lab up quickly. Do not let the ice melt before going into the microwave!
- Fill one container about half full of tap water.
- Fill another container about half full of ice cubes.
- Put BOTH in the microwave and heat on high power for two minutes.
- Remove and observe. CAUTION: containers may be HOT. Record your observations on the right side of this lab report − BE SPECIFIC about what you observed.

| Analysis & Conclusion: (If your lab observations indicate that liquid water and ice react differently in a microwave, include an explanation of why.)
