Family Pedigree Activity: The diagram above is an example of a blank pedigree chart. This type of chart is used to track a specific trait within a genetic line. 1. Draw a blank chart in the space below representing your immediate family (mother, father, siblings, and you).
2. Use one of the "recessive" traits discussed in class that you have. 3. Since you have the trait, color in the circle or square on the chart that represents you. 4. This evening, check your family members for the trait and color the chart appropriately. 5. Put a question mark in the circle or square of those family members that you do not actually see. 6. Bring the completed pedigree chart to class tomorrow for discussion. |
