Procedures Observations
  1. Using microscope, slide, cover slip, water, scissors, and newspaper make a wet-mount slide of a small-case letter "e".

  2. Cut a small-case letter "e" from a newspaper.

  3. Put the letter "e" on a microscope slide.

  4. Using a dropper bottle, put a small drop of water on the letter "e".

  5. Cover the letter "e" with a cover slip.

  6. Holding the slide so the "e" is right-side up, place it on the microscope stage.

  7. Observe the letter "e" using the low power objective lens.

  8. The total magnification when using low power is _______________X

  9. Draw what you see in the top circle.

  10. Rotate the nose piece to the medium power objective lens and observe the letter "e".

  11. The total magnification when using medium power is _______________X

  12. Draw what you see in the middle circle.

  13. Rotate the nose piece to the high power objective lens and observe the letter "e".

  14. The total magnification when using high power is _______________X

  15. Draw what you see in the bottom circle.
