  • Bring at least 2 different plastic containers or broken plastic objects from home.
     
  • Place all objects on the table at the front of the room.
     
  • What are the various characteristics of the objects? Such as:
     
    • Is the object hard or soft?
       
    • Is the object transparent or opaque?
       
    • How "strong" is the object?
       
    • Can the object be bent, broken, stretched, or twisted?

     
  • Divide all objects by resin codes.
     
  • What are the similarities and differences in the objects made from each type of resin?
     
  • Local Recycle Facilities:
     
    • Where can you take plastics to be recycled in our area?
       
    • What do these facilities require of the consumer before they will take plastics?
