Student Self-Evaluation

One important goal of this curriculum is to help students gain experience in self-evaluation. Teacher-prepared rubrics are provided for student use in self-evaluation of their major class products.

All these are analytic rubrics - setting forth the tasks expected of the students, with points awarded only if a task is completed.

It is Mr. Askew's experience that students are more successful with these than holistic rubrics, which give students "degrees" of success to choose from.
In addition, using the same basic rubric for several assignments will help students understand the most important things related to a particular type of communication.

These academic standards apply to assignments without rubrics.
