Do we have some future medical device engineers in the sixth grade? Sixth grade STEM students participated in a Foot Orthosis Challenge this week. The challenge was to make a foot orthosis brace for a child of cerebral palsy. Students worked as a team to design, build, test, and modify an orthosis that stabilized the ankle and foot. The groups had to explore the steps of the design process and use a decision matrix to evaluate the product prototype.

Look at all these book tickets! Students get a ticket when they read and reflect on books. We will have drawings for prizes at the end of the semester. Virtual days are perfect opportunities to READ! Did you know that reading for pleasure is a better indicator of how a student will succeed in life than standardized test scores?
